How to Organize every space in your home for FREE

I have been on an organizing kick lately. I organized my kitchen cabinets using products on a budget. But what if I told you that you don’t have to spend even a single penny to make organizers?

I came across this tip recently and it was GENIUS! I don’t know why I never thought of it earlier. Just re-use boxes and containers you get for free from the grocery store and turn them into organizers. It’s THAT simple.

Cereal Boxes

I have always been a cereal for breakfast kind of person. Now before you throw out your favorite cereal box, cut off the bottom of the box to your desired depth. There’s no need to tape up the sides or anything, it is already a ready-made box which can be used as a container to organize your things.

Just cover it up with some pretty contact paper and there you have it, a free organizing container. I like to use these to keep my pens, highlighters, paper clips and other stationary to keep my desk drawer neat and tidy.

These also come in handy when trying to sort out your junk drawer.

There are so many other organizers you can make with cereal boxes, the ideas are endless! You can make paper holders, file organizers and so much more! Check out the links below for more ideas.

Cartons

I am sure all of us have some sort of cardboard boxes coming to our homes from the grocery store, be it milk cartons or drinks. Cut off the flaps and just cover up the cardboard boxes with paper or even fabric to make it more durable and last longer and use them to store bigger items like books, blankets and spare pillows.

Gift boxes

Have you ever been gifted perfume sets or chocolates which come in pretty cardboard boxes? They make the best organizers. They are sturdy and the lid can be used as a separate container as well.

Phone boxes

Do you still have your old iPhone box? Maybe its just sitting in the back of your closet for years. Take it out today and use the lid to organize smaller items. I like to use mine to keep my makeup.

Shoe boxes

I dont know about you but i usually keep my shoes in a separate cabinet so the boxes always get thrown in the garbage. But wait. Dont throw them yet! use them to make larger containers to organizer your things like medicine or perfumes.

Glass Jars

Jam or Nutella jars can be re purposed to store spices and condiments in your kitchen. I always keep my empty pasta sauce jars, wash them, remove the label and then use them to store homemade sauces, caramel and my own homemade coffee creamer.

I hope this list gave you some inspiration on how to get creative and organize your stuff for free. It feels so satisfying to have a neat drawer where everything has it’s own place and you can visualize everything clearly.
